We're in the hallway.....

The Word revealed in home fellowship today: We are coming out of Egypt...we're in the hall created by the parting of the waters and we can turn back to that which is familiar but no longer for us...or we trust in Him, follow His lead and go forward on the path HE makes for us.

Tough choice... one way leads to the familiar and its presentations of safety, the other way leads to who knows what. And fear.

Pillars of salt, looking back at Gomorrah... grumbling Israelites, remembering their enslavement fondly... me trying to go back to deadly familiar terms under which I've always lived.

The hand of God leads into strange country. As long as He holds me I can do it. Sort of.

Familiar and comfort zone....those words resonated today.
We're not alone in the hallway....

Right on the money...and I'll bet the Hebrew children didn't just zip across the bottom of the Red Sea...it does take some time.

I think that walking the bottom of the Red Sea may be a life-long process. Actually... eternal. I think the learning will continue forever. Otherwise we'd get bored, and I doubt that heaven will be a boring place.

It's always God's doing. He keeps the water split, keeps me from drowning, and the farther in I get the higher the walls go. The more I have to depend upon him to make my life worth living. This is frightening to one who has always been a solo hiker...
