It's not tubing from a still!...

That Joe is a dryly funny guy! :-) The copper tubing COULD be used in a still....but my friend Patchouli (my beloved God-given sista) uses copper tubing to make these awesome Christmas trees. Maybe she'll post a picture of hers again, on her blog. She is some creative chick! :-) It went so well in my kitchen that we just keep it there. We have several spots in our home with lights like this, on tables, on baskets of sticks, on doors...we call them "happy lights" and we turn them on often, especially when people are gathered in our home. :-)

Copper folds into itself (kinda like us) after a while. That tree looks a little tired to me!

My own tree is in the December archives.

Hmm, I could use a little Christmas right about now--going out to my anger altar--again...

It does not look tired! Hmph. I like it! It "becomes" instead of "being."

I stand corrected. It is a delightful tree. Slump or no slump it is a bright example of material versastillity.

I just want to know, since I don't know Joe personally, why he thought it was a "condensing coil from a still"? Why would he even think of that? And is he having everyone over to his place for a party? That would never have occured to me in a million years no matter how long I stared at that tubing.

Bruce,
That Joe is an analytical, scientific, observant, and very open-minded fellow....and he has a very interesting sense of humor!
:-D
(I think he is speaking from experience on the
still thing but don't tell anyone! ;-) )
Joe? How about it? Partay??

Hey Happy Karen

That would be a great idea about the pictures. I haven't fiqured out how to do that yet. Life has been bustling around here.. wow.. spring is in the air. I live in Ontario Canada so I have enjoyed 2 nice warm days, raking leaves, cleaning up the hidden mess of winter. I just met my 2 new neighbours. I am so excited. The 1 lady I already knew but the other lady is just an amazing person. She is a muslim. Cool. She has suffered such tragedy in her life but yet she is so full of life. She is one I am going to get to know. She is going to make me some of her Indian food and I told her I would make her a cheesecake cause she likes sweets. Anyway she just had both breasts removed from breast cancer as well just finshed chemotherapy. Her original residence was in South Africa. We talked over the fence today about everything. We connected. Amazing.

Karen is right! I built a still in the 70's but not for recreational purposes. During a summer break from college, I worked for a manufacturer that used mineral spirits as a solvent. Before the gas shortage the mineral spirits were thrown away when it became saturated with the material it dissolved. After the gas shortage started, mineral spirits were too expensive to throw away. So, I built a still to separate the mineral spirits from the waste material. The mineral spirits were evaporated in a boiler then recondensed in a copper coil. We got a lot of stares from the neighbors. Just call me Joe Bob!

You can wake up now my explanation is over.
