Ok, that's it. You have reminded me of something I need to do! I tried starting a recycling program at my work (very small office and lots of cans, bottles and paper)but my bosses would NOT cooperate. Then, when I FINALLY got them to cooperate, the cleaning people thought it was trash and tossed my recyclables! But, tomorrow I am going in there ready to try again!

We played in the pond and picked up trash in our neighborhood (there really wasn't any trash, but I went with the kid's ideas, so we mostly picked up errant twigs).

I don't understand water conservation, though, at least in a universal sense. We still essentially have the same amount of water as when the earth began, don't we?

Missy we want to be careful about the amount of water we use because we tend to add chemicals to it. I’m happy to say that the company I work for is working on being more green. Still I’m seeing a lot of chemicals go out the door for greener grass, bug killing, oil, and so on all of those things end up in our water. My washer uses less water and detergent so it’s less power and better for the environment. We also need to remember that the lakes and other water sources are where our wild life live. A drought could devastate the balance. Here in Oklahoma we have seen the decline of our frogs and toads. Those little wonders are great indicators that we have some environmental problems. I’m glad to see that we have been having a rainy season. We needed it for our farms. It all ties together.
