Crossroads. . .

I'm in a weird place...unsettled. I want to be "useful" and am looking at perhaps starting a new career. I keep thinking that 51 is too old to start anything. I don't know where that nonsense comes from....hitting 50 was weird. Glad to be here, though.
I don't know if I can physically handle full-time work or not, but I do know that I'm happier out working and contributing. Thoughts range from these:
**Truly market myself and start doing more art; keep subbing on the side.
**Going back to school for my LPC to become a licensed counselor.
**Go for alternative certification in General, Art, and Special Ed and teach full-time.

Would you offer up a prayer for me to listen for God's word on this? Thanks.

Prayin' for you ..

Don't let age be a factor, I got my degree at 53, and at 54 I'm about to start work on my Masters.

Be realistic about the practicalities (money, energy level etc) and after that, follow your heart!

Praying for you. God will show the way when we ask him, but be patient we must. Be strong and keep courage.

YOU GO GIRL!!!! I can't wait to see which direction you go. You would be an excellent counselor (I've benefited from your wisdom and empathy many times). You are also very gifted as an artist.....Hmmm. How exciting.

Karen, you know I am praying for you. Never doubt that you can accomplish any of these - you are amazing and far more youthful than you give yourself credit for. :)

Two points Karen.

1. PT Barnum was 61 when he started his first circus. So you've got plenty of time.

2. In Book of Acts, the first words Peter spoke after the gift of the holy spirit was a quote from the book of Joel: In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

You were created to dream -- go dream and make your dreams come true.

Good one Ed.. reminded me that Grandma Moses began painting in her seventies after abandoning a career in embroidery because of arthritis.

Not that I am equating Karen with a senior citizen :)

Thanks, Missy....I stay younger by hangin' with you younguns!
Ed, you have no idea how sweet your words were for me today. Thank you so much. Bless you.
Good reminder, Bob....sometimes I feel like a senior citizen when the lupus flares!

Will pray for you Karen. I've been in that unsettled place before and I know what it's like.
