Christmas silliness annual rant. . .

I just heard that some public building in some state (great info, huh?!) put out a Nativity scene, so atheists got together and put out something about "There are no gods, angels, blah blah, something about religion is myth and imprisons your brain....blah blah." I forget what it said, but it was presented as a statement of fact, and I don't know if they "signed" their creation or not.

I have a solution to all of this. Stop Christmas. Yeah, that's what I said. Stop it. It's too commercial, anyway. Stop the weeks off from school; stop the days off from work. Our holy day isn't getting any respect. SO, only Christians get Christmas Eve and Christmas day off. No atheists, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Pokemon, or anyone but Christians. Period. OOh, ooh, and Good Friday, too.

How's that?

Pretty sill, as Christmas isn't a Christian holiday. It was celebrated by the Pagan's long before Jesus appread on the scene.

How's that?

Thanks for the shocking history lesson, Brent.

Pokemon!? I think I got one or two of those.

That's a lovely photo of you, by the way. :)

Yes, Missy, I think there are those who worship the Jiggly Puff.
Thanks!

A Karen-rant extraodinaire! Unfortunately, I agree fully with most of it......

Thanks, Don; it started out satire and I think I'd like to see it! :-)

well karen my sweet friend I say just change the dating of Christmas since we don't know the exact day Jesus was born anyhow, but it is generally accepted that it wasn't in december. I wonder what thge reaction to *we will no longer celebrate Christmas on december 25 as it is not really Jesus true bday * would go over?? Missy and Kbob are right you rant in style lol

sounds reasonable to me. I don't lie pokemon or atheists anyway!

The atheists in Colorado have put up billboards ... however, the billboards are causing people to really give some thought to their question: What if there is no God? And, it seems to be causing more folks to rethink their own relationship with God! Hooray for that! It is actually working against the atheists rather then drawing people to them! LOL Serves them right! It might be wise if everyone treated everyday as Christmas ... that's what we should be doing anyway ... celebrating the birth of our Precious Saviour every day ... not just on December 25th! Thanks be to God we have that right!

karen said...

sorry, milly.... :-( You need more days off!

Paige...maybe p & a's have a lot in common!

Ms. M...that's funny. Sometimes it seems that atheists are very angry and bitter. All they do is try to break down believers--it's almost a...RELIGION...to them!

I share my home with many (very, very, very many) pokemon, and we get along famously. ;)

karen said...

I did, too, at one time. We got along just fine as long as they didn't force me to think about worshiping the Jiggly Puff! ;-D

Actually I don't quite understand it. Maybe I come from a place where festivals are celebrated nationwide, even if we do not take part in it, we celebrate it with them and wish them the best. But I agree with you, Christmas is already so commercialised it will not make a difference to us if we just celebrate it in our homes and in the church, without the tinsels and the fanfare.

karen said...

I would love that, pearlie--either we celebrate in our homes and churches...or even that others would join in and celebrate without trying to change it up.

Here's what I posted on Facebook about the Atheist signs...

Mark is thinking that maybe God is the one stealing the atheists' signs. Nobody from that group would think of blaming Him.

LOL, Mark! :-)
