Dang, it's hot....

I got back from a job this afternoon...I can't get the A/C in this house that I'm working in to cool down. I have a fan, but geegollywillikers....it's 86 in that 8,000 sqft. house. Now, in 100 degree weather, that might seem cool....but 86 is only cool if you're on the beach with a festive umbrella over head and perhaps a delightful pina colada with a mini-me umbrella tucked happily inside it...and a good book to read. However...86 degrees is NOT comfy for a 40 something, slightly Rubenesque female hauling ladders and paint buckets around, and climbing up and down. It's hotter up toward the ceiling, did you KNOW that?? :-) I think I "glowed" off a few pounds....

I sit in awe and amazement than you can drag ladders around and climb them. I could not do that with all my stupid physical issues. I'll tell ya one thing I COULD do -

I could sit under an umbrella with my buddy Karen sipping a Mai Tai while she sips her pina colada!

Karen,

You are a riot!

I hope you figure out the A/C issue soon. Where are the owners? Have they no compassion? They must have the fixings for a pina colada. Make your drink then close your eyes and tap your heels together three times. And think to yourself, 'There's no place like the beach'.

Have fun!

Did I hear someone say party? Big pool you say? I'm so there. You can have your beach, right now I would settle for the top of a mountain.

Yeah, you're right Bruce...I can't go in the sun, so I would rather be on a mountain right now...

At least you have a beach close by!

My house has been hot enough that I didn't want to start the computer... makes a great heater. And the beach is too crowded.

As for the kilt and Greek food Jack mentioned, it's part of a long story. I met Jack in May 2003 when I was doing a sculpture. Lapsed Christian sculptor meets assistant pastor, and ends up being sandbagged by Jesus through a sequence of unlikely events organized by our counter-statistical God. Jack came back last year and we met at a local Greek restaurant. I was, of course, wearing a kilt, which is what any reasonable man would wear on a warm day. We had a hilarious time. If you want the whole story of the year before I started Blogging, it's called "Anonymity was never an option," and runs about 250 pages. Email or hard copy.

well, yeah! Larry. Sounds verrrry interesting!
A kilt, hmmm?

Yes, a kilt. The Scots knew what they were about. If you'd like some details on this, get a cup of your favorite beverage, sit comfortably, and take a look at yis2003.blogspot.com and then click on 03M-7. There are pictures, and then the story. Have fun!

You do so well in hauling those things around. I dislike the heat intensely. We've had a heatwave here in England.

You have a great blog here, Karen.
