Prayers for a man alone....

Please pray for my neighbor John, who passed away some time yesterday afternoon....alone in his house, sitting on the couch, that he would be safe in the Father's arms. This morning, I saw that his lawn mower and trash bags were still on the driveway....his car in the open garage. I called my husband to see if he had seen him...it wasn't unusual for John to sort of disappear off and on. He kept to himself, a lot. We tried to buddy up to him, but it was very difficult. He had apparently taken his ex-wife to the airport to go to L.A. for her father's funeral. My hubby said he hadn't seen him and we agreed that something had happened. I waited for a check in the spirit to see if I should go in or not...because I knew what I would find. He was just...sitting there on the sofa as if he had dozed off. I called 911 then dropped to my knees to pray for him, and for the house as well. This is the 2nd man that has died there; it's the third owner that has died. There have only been 3 owners. Please pray for his ex-wife; she doesn't know yet; and they were still friends, so her loss is doubled. Please pray for his family and friends. I just wept at the thought of him all alone last night; no one knowing. Dying alone. It scares the crap out of me. So, maybe a prayer for me and mine, as well. Thanks. "Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb." Rev. 22:1

praise God you went in. It IS possible that the house is cursed, but it's also a fact that all house owners die. God will give you the wisdom of what to do if anything

but don't be alarmed. Scripture says that worry doesn't add any days to our life.

but a horrible experience for you. May your neighbour rest in peace.

Lorna, thank you for your kind words...I was questioning whether I should have gone in, because his boss who came to check on him later would have found him. But, I did go in, and called my husband, who checked his BP...it was elevated...so he's getting checked out, and YOU commented...and I've been a reader of your blog for a long time...so...God works in wonderful ways, even through sadness...and I know John's with Him.

My hubby checked his BP later. That didn't sound right the way I wrote it...

Many will argue with me, but I see no need to pray for this fellow. I understand that Father's love extends deeply into the hearts of all He created, and His grace is SO complete, that none can escape it... even through death. Rejoice for your neighbor! He has finished the race, and is sitting with the Creator - in the winner's seat!

Yeah, I'm a nut. But I won't limit God's love to something we have control over. You know?

I know what you're saying, Bruce...and far be it from me to call anyone a nut. But prayers are always the good thing to do...and my prayers for John today, by his side, were to acknowledge his existence, thank the Father for the blessing that John was to those who knew him and to thank the Lord for receiving him on this day. Not prayers for salvation. That's not my department! ;-)
I spoke to John's ex-wife a while ago...they were still good friends, and she was so at peace and comforted to know that he had been prayed for and would be prayed for. Her peace gave me a large measure of comfort.

This must have been very upsetting for you, it sounds as if you are a lovely neighbour who cared enough to go and check him out,

Praying for peace for you.

Sorrows rain down on you, they will bring hope and peace as they grow up and away. Peace to you

I'm glad you checked on him when you did. It's much better to find someone sooner after they have passed than later. And, if it helps, it was probably quick and virtually painless since he was sitting on the couch. I will also keep you in prayer as you process this.
